About Us

Who We Are

We are an unapologetically Independent, Fundamental, KJV only, Soul winning Baptist church located in Bullitt County, Kentucky near Louisville. We are family integrated, so children and infants are welcomed in all of our services. Many families make use of our nursery, Sunday School, and bus ministry. Many of the families of our church homeschool, but we additionally offer Christian schooling as a helpful option for some families.

What We Believe, Teach, and Preach

Verbal Inspiration of Scriptures

The King James Bible is the infallible, inerrant, and inspired Word of God preserved for us today. The Old and New Testament Scriptures were recorded by human writers as those men were moved and directed by the Holy Spirit of God. The King James Bible is the official and only translation used in the services of VVBC because it is without error. The Scripture is the final Authority in all matters of faith, doctrine, life, and practice. (Psalm 12:6-7; II Timothy 3:16; Psalm 119:89; II Peter 1:20-21)

Genesis Account of Creation

We believe the Genesis account of creation. We believe creation was a direct act of God, in six literal 24- hour days. We believe man was created in the image of God and all reproduction was “after their kind.” (Genesis 1:1; Colossians 1:16-17; Job 26:7; Psalm 33:6,9; John 1:3)

The Trinity/Godhead

We believe in one triune God, eternally existing in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Ghost – each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 14:10, 26; II Corinthians 13:14; I John 5:7)

The Son of God

The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal and only begotten Son of God. He became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. He was tempted in all points like as we are yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:14-15; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2, 14; II Corinthians 5:19-21; Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-8)

The Doctrine of Sin

Man was created in the image and likeness of God but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death but also spiritual death and separation from God. All men are sinners by birth and by their own free will. Now, due to the inherited sin nature, all men are totally depraved, and utterly unable to be reconciled to God without choosing to believe on Jesus Christ. Mankind is bent toward sinning in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23; 5:12; 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; 4:17-19)

Blood Atonement

The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He was buried and arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified. He ascended into Heaven in His glorified body, where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father as Head of the Church, making intercession for the saints as our High Priest. (Luke 24; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; Ephesians 1:20-23; I Peter 3:18; I John 2:1-2)

Salvation

Man is lost and must be born again to be saved. Salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace, and received by repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is not a process, but is instantaneous the moment a lost soul believes on Jesus for salvation. (John 1:12; 3:3-7; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-9; I Peter 1:18-19)

Repentance

Repentance is a change of mind. Repentance is not turning from all sins, is not reformation, and is not an attempt to clean up one's life to be saved. (Psalm 135:14; Mark 1:15; Acts 17:29-31; 20:20-21; Romans 3:19-26; 4:1-8; 5:1-11)

Eternal Security

We believe "once saved, always saved." It is impossible for a person to lose the gift of salvation. Believers are eternally secure in Jesus. All those who are saved are sealed by the Holy Spirit, kept by God’s power, and are secure in Jesus Christ forever. God’s Word forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to fulfill carnal desires. Instead, the Christian should use his liberty and security to serve the Lord. (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:34-39; Galatians 5:13; Ephesians 2:8-10; 4:30; I John 5:13-15)

Heaven and Hell

Heaven and Hell are literal places. Those who are saved and are absent from the body are immediately present with the Lord in Heaven. The lost who die in their sins, not believing upon Jesus Christ for salvation, immediately awake in Hell in eternal fiery torment. (II Corinthians 5:4-8; Luke 16:19-31)

The Second Coming/End Times

We believe in a post tribulation/pre-wrath rapture. We do not believe in a secret pre-tribulation rapture. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself is coming again in the air, after a time of great tribulation, to rapture up those that have received Him as their personal Savior, and He will reward their service. The unbelievers left behind will experience God's wrath poured out upon this earth, after which Christ shall return with His saints to the earth to set up His Kingdom of one-thousand years of righteous rule. After this, the unbelievers of all ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, while the believers spend eternity in the fullness of joy with the Lord. (Psalm 89:3-4; Daniel 2:31-45; Matthew 24:14-42; I Thessalonians 1:10; 3:2-4; 4:16-18; 5:1-11; II Thessalonians 2:1-12; Titus 2:13; Revelation 19:11 - 20:15)

Separation from the World unto God

All believers are called unto a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices, immodest and immoderate appearances, and unholy associations.  A person, once he has truly accepted Christ as Savior, is a new creation in Christ and should live a holy, consecrated life in order to please his Lord. He should separate himself from the world and all of its vices in obedience to the commands of God. (Romans 12:1-2; II Corinthians 5:17; 6:14-7:1; II Thessalonians 3:6, 14-15; II Timothy 2:19; I Peter 2:9; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11)

The Church

A Scriptural church is a visible local (not universal) assembly of baptized (immersed) believers, associated together in fellowship based solely upon the Word of God.  The purpose of the church is to go and win the lost, baptize the saved, and teach them to be disciples of Jesus Christ. The church is to be a self-governed, independent body having Christ as the Head, the Holy Spirit for its Guide, and the Bible as the only rule of faith and practice. The only Scriptural offices of the church are the bishop (Pastor) and deacons. The two ordinances of the local church are Baptism and Lord’s Supper. (Matthew 18:15-20; 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-42; 6:1-7; I Corinthians 11:20-34; Ephesians 1:22-23; 3:21; I Timothy 3; II Timothy 2:2; Hebrews 12:22-23)

Soul Winning and Evangelism

It is the duty of every Christian to go out and preach the Gospel to the lost. Vision Valley Baptist Church is a soul winning church. We believe and practice door-to-door soul winning. God wants all people to be saved, therefore we utterly reject Calvinism/Reformed Theology. The unsaved cannot be saved unless they hear God's Word and are given the choice to believe on Jesus Christ or reject the free gift of eternal life. Each individual must choose to believe on Jesus Christ for salvation or reject God's free gift of eternal life. (II Corinthians 4:1-7)
